I'm an early career scholar of policing, and I currently serve as the Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow in Law at the University of Pennsylvania. My research centers on the normative roles of law enforcement and other criminal legal institutions in a democratic society. I draw on the value of political association to define the duties and ethical obligations of the police. My research engages questions of race, citizenship, and justice as a framework for rethinking the role of law enforcement.
